Ramsbury D-day 80 chosen charities

All the fundraising we do will go to our 2 chosen military Charities,

Help for Heroes & Murphy’s Army.

“When a conflict ends, for some the battles don’t stop. We support veterans and their families by giving life-changing support, no matter when or where they served.
We’re at their side. For as long as it takes.”

Help for Heroes. (Registered Charity No:1120920)

Help for Heroes

Life can be tough when a military career comes to an end, not just for the serviceman or women but for their families too.

Help for Heroes ensures help for the physical and mental needs of our veterans and gives them the skills, confidence, and knowledge to make a success of their new civilian life.

By supporting this UK military charity, we can help them get people back on their feet after serving their country, not matter where, when or how long they served for.

“They also served…”

Murphy’s Army (Registered Charity No: 1167823)

Murphy’s Army

This small yet very important animal charity was established in 2014 and began with a clear mission to reunite lost and stolen pets to their owners across the UK. Since then, they have used their volunteers to raise theft awareness, promote pet safety and welfare and support other military animal charities.

In 2016 they launched the Purple Poppy Campaign to encourage members of the public all across the UK to pay tribute to all the animals that served in both the World Wars and all those who have been lost in service since and who still serve today.

The charities research had shown that although the traditional red poppy was well known, the significance of the purple poppy – to remember the animals – was less so.

Thanks to the efforts of Murphy’s Army over the years, they have raised significant awareness of the meaning of the purple poppy and many more are now being worn with pride.

The Purple Poppy campaign in turn also supports the NFRSA, (National Foundation of Retired Service animals) and Hero Paws, both of which support service animals and their life in retirement.
